Dear Colleagues,
I am writing to share an important leadership update for the System Office of Capital, Utilities, and Real Estate.
After a distinguished career, Doug Reddington, Director of Project Delivery, retired last Friday, May 29th. Doug has been an integral part of the University of Illinois System, bringing decades of experience in architecture, capital planning, and project delivery. Throughout his tenure, he has led and helped deliver a number of significant projects across our campuses, including the Campus Instructional Facility, Feed Technology Center, and Wymer Hall at UIUC, and the Outpatient Surgery Center and Grenshaw Street Parking Structure at UIC.
Doug's leadership in complex project delivery—particularly through innovative approaches such as public-private partnerships—has strengthened our ability to execute major capital projects in support of the university’s mission. He has been a trusted advisor, collaborator, and advocate for thoughtful planning, design excellence, and strong project outcomes. We are grateful for Doug's many contributions to the University of Illinois System and wish him all the best in his retirement.
At the same time, I am pleased to announce that Elise Riehle will serve as the next Director of Project Delivery.
Elise brings a strong track record of leading complex capital projects, advancing delivery strategy, and fostering collaboration across teams and stakeholders. In her current role as Senior Assistant Director, Project Delivery, she has played a key role in leading projects, overseeing development team selection and negotiations, and shaping overall delivery strategy. Her experience spans capital planning, construction management, public-private partnership delivery, and process improvement, complemented by a proven commitment to operational excellence and team development.
Elise's leadership, strategic perspective, and ability to deliver results position her well to continue advancing our project delivery program and supporting the evolving needs of our campuses.
